Creating a Brand
If you don't know already - we love Nottingham and are very proud of our city. So, whenever we get the chance to work on a project that helps promote Nottingham we can't wait to get stuck in.
Last year we were asked to pitch for a project to re-brand Nottingham Leisure Partnership (NLP) and the tourism website gotonottingham. We won the pitch - hooray! - because, we were told, we'd shown passion and an understanding of what NLP were trying to achieve - that extra research and understanding goes a long way.
NLP represent the majority of city centre leisure businesses. These businesses contribute funds towards a series of mutually beneficial projects to improve trading conditions in Nottingham.
Over the last two years NLP has delivered events such as the Nottingham Food and Drink Festival and the Hockley Hustle music festival, as well as access
and safety initiatives like new teams of Taxi Marshals.
At the time of the re-brand NLP were also looking to add a new Retail BID to the mix as well. So, how to combine the NLP, the gotonottingham aspect (the public facing side of NLP) and also a new Retail BID? Well, our solution was simple: to create one strong identity 'We Are Nottingham'. The single identity would then be used as both the main public facing brand as well as being adapted to become the business brand for We Are Nottingham Leisure and We Are Nottingham Retail.
By having only one identity for both organisations, a strong sense of unity, consistency and clarity is achieved, helping businesses understand what they are contributing to and helping the public see that events and initiatives aren't just isolated but part of a much bigger scheme to improve Nottingham.
