The ‘motive’ation behind the rebrand

To kick off the project, we sat down with the team. It was important to understand everything about the company. Not only who they are or how long they’ve been around, but to get a true sense of their personality, their drive and their ambitions.

We created a brand strategy document for Motive, a way for us to really get beneath the brand, uncovering who they really are and pave the way for the creative. It became apparent that a tenacious, results-driven brand that takes no bull was the way forward.

We needed to create a brand that reflects their ambitions, along with a new direct, real and honest tone. A brand to stand proud alongside their plethora of awards.

A no-bull brand

With the Brand DNA, vision and purpose at our fingertips, we crafted a bespoke brand tailored perfectly to Motive.

The idea of ‘full coverage’ ran through the visuals of the identity, with every element housed in a specific shape or container, even with the logo. The new logo needed to reflect the identity’s boldness and direct tone just as well. With a bold and unapologetic mark, the logo sits proudly on all collateral – simple and bold, making a statement.

A unique twist of the ‘i’ into a ‘!’ adds a final tenacious touch. A ‘no-bull’ approach was important to separate Motive apart from what’s considered ‘fluffy’ PR agencies.

All of this was captured through a seamless animation for the website header, encompassing the key business messages and showing the interesting ways the brand can be used.

Motive is different. The bold and edgy typographic style was perfect to convey their inspiring, results-driven brand.

As part of the identity, we created a bold colour palette. Created to be truly adaptable, the palettes add a burst of impact and purpose that unites with the rest of the unique and memorable brand.
