A new chapter for a Jamaican classic
Nestled along the most stunning stretch of Jamaica’s famed Seven Mile Beach, Negril Footeprints Hotel has welcomed guests with open arms since 1985. Built by the Foote family, the hotel began as a 12-room passion project and gradually expanded to become a beloved destination for travellers seeking genuine Jamaican hospitality. After decades of success and a post-pandemic pause, the founder’s son, Andre, took the reins with a clear vision: to elevate the property while preserving its soul.
Threerooms partnered with Negril Footeprints to craft a brand transformation rooted in heritage, designed for longevity, and inspired by the rhythm of Jamaica itself. This holistic rebrand positions the hotel as a beacon of boutique luxury, local authenticity, and cultural immersion.
Challenge
The Footeprints brand had earned a fiercely loyal guest base, with return rates as high as 80%. Yet its identity, communications, and digital presence hadn’t kept pace with the evolving expectations of modern travellers. Post-pandemic, the family recognised the need for a full refresh not only to improve appeal but also to champion a new era for Negril as a destination.
Our challenge was to translate a rich family legacy and deep local connections into a brand system that felt aspirational yet grounded. We needed to differentiate Footeprints from both sprawling all-inclusives and dated boutique hotels, without losing the warmth, magic, and down-to-earth character that made it special.
Impact
The rebrand has repositioned Negril Footeprints Hotel as a contemporary leader in Jamaica’s boutique hospitality scene. Early feedback from returning guests has been overwhelmingly positive, and interest from new markets (especially the UK, Canada, and South America) has surged. New food concepts, upgraded service offerings, and a standout visual identity have differentiated Footeprints from its competitors, without compromising the community spirit at its core.
Guests now arrive not just for a beach holiday, but for an immersive experience rooted in Jamaican culture, cuisine, and soul. As one guest put it: “You don’t just stay here. You come home.”
