Time for change: Protecting young drivers

The challenge

Tragedy isn’t inevitable

PACTS (Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety) needed to address a critical national issue: 24% of fatal or serious injury collisions in Britain involve 17 to 24-year-olds. Despite decades of concern, there was no single, unified resource compiling the evidence, data and lived experience needed to drive policy change. The decision was made to create ‘Protect Young Drivers’ – a central hub to house hard statistics alongside the powerful stories of bereaved families, aiming to push for Graduated Driving Licensing (GDL) and save lives.

Our approach

Real research. Real stories. Real tools.

We developed a campaign identity designed to balance the ‘head’ and the ‘heart’ of the issue. The creative direction utilised a bold, urgent visual language to present complex data in an accessible way. We designed and built a Wix website to serve as the national hub, creating a space that empowers a growing network of partners, from enforcement and policy to academia. This, along with a comprehensive toolkit of marketing and social collateral, ensures the voices of families and the weight of evidence are presented with equal authority.

The impact

A unified voice for change

The project culminated in an official launch event in Parliament, successfully bringing the issue to the heart of government. The work unified a previously fragmented team of bereaved families and road safety experts under one cohesive campaign identity, providing a vital platform for the ‘Forget-me-not Families Uniting’ group. Immediate positive feedback from key stakeholders has firmly established the site as the go-to resource for evidence-led advocacy.

Outstanding design, branding and website build for the Protect Young Drivers project

Threerooms were an exceptional partner on the Protect Young Drivers website for the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety (PACTS). They were completely in tune with what we needed from the outset and followed the brief perfectly, translating complex ideas into meaningful, thoughtful design and clear, impactful graphics.

The finished site has been incredibly well received by leading stakeholders across the road safety sector - a real credit to the Threerooms team and their collaborative approach with both me and PACTS as their clients. Their creativity, professionalism and understanding of the subject matter made the whole process straightforward and enjoyable.

Highly recommended.
